LANKATILES continued its design-led collaboration with Colombo Fashion Week at CFW Couture + Trousseau 2026, presenting a new interpretation of how surfaces can move beyond conventional applications to become part of a wider creative experience. This time, LANKATILES introduced a series of specially created mosaic-clad blocks and plinths, thoughtfully integrated into the runway environment as sculptural design elements.
The installation reflects LANKATILES’ approach to looking beyond what happens on the runway and exploring the design that shapes the space around it. Bringing together fashion and surface, movement and material, and runway and room, the collaboration demonstrates how materials associated with architecture and interiors can take on new meaning within a different creative context.
The relationship with Colombo Fashion Week has continued to evolve with each edition. In 2025, LANKATILES introduced Sri Lanka’s first tiled fashion runway, bringing fashion and surface design together in an unexpected way. At CFW Summer 2026, the collaboration evolved through a mosaic installation that highlighted the artistic and spatial potential of mosaics.
At Couture + Trousseau 2026, LANKATILES took the concept further through “Living Sculpture”, transforming mosaics from a surface application into three-dimensional design elements within the runway space.

Commenting on the collaboration, Harin Samat, Head of Marketing, at LANKATILES, stated: “Colombo Fashion Week provides us with an opportunity to explore design beyond traditional boundaries. Architecture, interiors, fashion, material and craftsmanship continuously influence one another. With each collaboration, we have looked at how our materials can contribute differently to that conversation. ‘Living Sculpture’ takes this thinking further by transforming the surface itself into form and making it part of the overall runway experience”.
The collaboration also reflects LANKATILES’ wider ambition to contribute to Sri Lanka’s contemporary design landscape by engaging with architects, interior designers, fashion designers, students and other creative communities.
This design-led approach is reflected across the LANKATILES portfolio, from its locally manufactured mosaics to premium large format collections such as Majestica, developed for contemporary residential, commercial and architectural environments. The brand continues to explore how surfaces can move beyond functional finishes to become an integral part of the overall design language of space.
As Sri Lanka’s only local mosaic manufacturer, LANKATILES brings specialised expertise in mosaic and surface design to this conversation. At CFW Couture + Trousseau 2026, this expertise was expressed through an installation where texture, light, movement and material became part of the visual language of the event.
From the tiled runway of 2025 to the mosaic installation at CFW Summer 2026 and now “Living Sculpture”, each collaboration has offered a new interpretation of material and design. Through initiatives such as this, LANKATILES continues to reinforce its position as a premium, design forward Sri Lankan brand while contributing to the creative thinking shaping the country’s evolving design culture.
