The design draws inspiration from the ancient plastered walls of Sigiriya. These are plastered parapet walls that create passageways, elevated to form a protective barrier. It is believed that the inner surfaces of these walls exhibited a sheen and glowing effect, achieved through a special plaster made of white clay, fine sand, lime, egg whites, and honey. The surface was then buffed to a brilliant lustre with beeswax—a finish that remains visible to this day.
