Chryso, a prefix meaning "gold," is also associated with certain greenish hues. The texture is inspired by Chrysoberyl, a gemstone from Sri Lanka known for its yellowish-green, transparent to translucent appearance. When Chrysoberyl displays good pale green to yellow coloration and is transparent, it is often faceted and used as a gemstone. In Sri Lanka, gem-quality Chrysoberyl is primarily discovered as water-worn pebbles within the alluvial gem gravels of Pelmadulla, Balangoda, Rathnapura, Elahera, and Okkampitiya. The transparent variety of Chrysoberyl is especially prized for its beauty as a faceted gem.
